The carespot doctor says he can't hold me out. But put my restrictions as no driving due to dizziness. I'm scared WC and the company will accept this offer and if the do how do I get there? How do I cope with symptoms? Meds knock me out, it's just a mess! Hopefully my lawyer will have some insight tomorrow.

I sure hope so! Sounds like you have lots of anxiety... did anyone give you anything for that?

Nope! I wake up 3-4 times per night with horrible nightmares reliving the explosion. I just feel as if my life is upside down!!!

It sounds like you've got PTSD. Tell your lawyer and get to a psychologist, as soon as possible.

Do you think I could have PTSD from this? I would have never thought.

Are you, kidding? You were in an EXPLOSION. You're having nightmare about it and experiencing anxiety. Have you had flashbacks?

Now, they want you to go back to the place where it happened? I'm not seeing that working out for you.

I didn't realize I could have PTSD. I didn't know really what it was until you said something. I'm terrified to go back, after all this is cleared I will probably be making a career change. I haven't so much had flashbacks but anything containing chemical scares me. (Gas can, cleaning chemicals, tankers etc)

It was months and months after my horrific MVA before I had a flashback. My husband spilled some coffee on the maker's heating element and, I thought, "That smells like exploding airbags." The next thing I knew, I was back IN the car. Not thinking about the accident - but RELIVING it. Wow! Until you have a flashback, you can't appreciate what they are.

It took A LOT of work to get my PTSD enough under control for me to get back in a car. However, it will NEVER be my happy place and I can't even stand being a passenger in urban traffic.

See a psychologist, a PTSD diagnosis, alone, might be enough to get you a longer recovery break .

Thank you Hockey,

That sounds like a very scary thing to go through. The nightmares a constant, I'm terrified to be back around chemicals. I'm gonna get checked as my research has shown me that PTSD is very serious.

SarahSmile0205 05-27-2014 10:08 AM

I second Hockey... I think you have PTSD!

I am happy you are here and getting info from someone who has been through this... and she is right... tell your lawyer! and YES PTSD is very serious!!!
