Has anyone been treated here? It is in Baltimore.
I am looking for the best place to begin what I hope will be my decent medical care for my multiple concussions. I have never received any proper treatment and now I am determined to find the best place to start. I have an appointment at University of Pittsburgh Concussion Clinic for June 16, but they are a 5 hour drive from where I will be living. My mother found the Sinai place through the Brain Injury Association, and after calling there, she thought the care might be similar to what is offered at Pittsburgh. Some of their people were trained at Pittsburgh. It is about 1 1/4 hour drive - still far for me, but after the initial evaluation, they can make referrals to specialists closer to where the patient lives. We just wish we had feedback from someone who has been treated there. Anyone? |

I doubt even a good referral to either facility will make a difference. Every concussion is different and yours appear to be very complex. You need to find a doctor or clinic that takes a sincere interest in your condition rather than one that just throws protocols, pills and therapies at you.

The Start: MVA, t-boned, on 1-12-14 (my sons 5th birthday) and did not think anything of it.. my back hurt on site but everything else seemed ok. Lost about 10-12 hours from about 3 hours after the accident to the next day...Experienced terrible brain fog for over a month, plus intense headaches, nausea, dizziness, cognitive difficulties, disorientation, no short term memory, depression and just an overall hangover feeling daily. Current Situation: I'm about 7 months in and my local neurologist has waived her white flag and therefore I am headed to Dallas to be seen (I have family there). The headaches are still daily. I have nausea, dizziness as well. Drugs I have been on- Vicodin (off), Naproxen (off), proanolol (off), topamax (off), cataflam (off), Midrin (off), Flexeril (off) and now Namenda XR (off), Nortrptylin (off), Verapamil (off) Therapy- Osteopath, Vestibular and balance therapy, fuzion/soft tissue massage, acupuncture Drs- ER (no help), GP, Chiropractor, Neurologist and Osteopath |
