Hello
I do struggle with screen and try to limit them too. There is a product I heard about and am curious if anyone has tried it. these are made by Carpathian eyewear, and the are clip on things for prescription glasses. Wondering if these help cut down on eye strain and computer ues for anyone. I do have f.lux on my computer and I think it helps, and yes, I know to take breaks from it too. Anyhow, just seeing what works for people out there. Thax poetrymom

Symptoms I had: dizziness, light and sound sensitivity, fatigue, tinitis, occasional headaches and migraines, Symptoms as of 5--2013: poor sleep, tinitis, some confusion /short term memory blanks, balance. The other symptoms are mostly gone, but flare up if I OVERdo something. Therapy I had: vestibular 3 months in: I could drive more and for longer distances. I felt like a younger, happier version of myself and I feel so blessed to have this feeling. 9 months in and I am working full time. I do get tired, and some sound and light sensitivity from time to time, but mostly I am over most of my symptoms. I pray every day and I m praying for your recovery. Over a year in: I can multi task (limited) and have humor in my life. But when I am tired, I am very tired. |

Hello PoetryMom,
I find that the computer screen, laptop screen, & TV screen all bother me. I can use my ipad and iPhone but best if dimmed and tilted. Time restraints to or I get a whopper of a headache-migraine. My doctor told me there is a difference in all the screens but I could t tell you what. I do like when the background is a soft different color. I don't know if this helps or not ![]() Jace

Another thing I figured out is that I do a lot of my writing laying down in bed and I need to change that to sitting upright.
I do have some sunglass lenses that clip on my regular glasses, but I don't know if the ones on the site are the same idea or different. I also have that f.lux on my computer. If anyone has the Carpathian eyewear and it works for them, I would love to know. thanx poetrymom

Not sure if this will help you, but my friend uses some sort of glare-stopping screen on her computer. She used to get really bad headaches and bouts of dizziness before she got the screen. If you are interested, I can get more info from her. I have no clue what it's called.

I have installed flux and I like it. But I still can't read for longer than 30 minutes the words are blurry but not as glare.

Look into Irlens Syndrome. They have a specialized process of giving you specifically tinted lenses to block the rays of light that over stress your brain. They also have a list of practitioners that have been trained in the practice of finding your lense type.

I just bought the carpathian clip on frames since the flux seemed to really help with my eyes. I can't read beyond 30 minutes - but the eye strain is less intense.
I even think my comprehension has increased. I would definitely recommend it. I mean it's a bit odd looking through orange tint-but it is less harsh. It must have some effect on the brain. But every bit helps. here and there we take what we can! Thanks you all!

I find .flux doesn't work well enough for me. For example, I have it on dim incandescent now and it's still too bright.
I do better on websites with black backgrounds, etc. I think sunglasses would be an excellent idea I might copy more often. |
