MN,

I don't remember you telling us the steps and treatments you are doing to try to get better. I know you situation is tough but hopefully there are some things to pursue to move forward.

What kind of doctors are caring for you ?

after 7 years of being told to touch my nose and having all my tests come back negative and just being sent home I gave up seeing doctors.

Oh, Mark, I hear you. I am at the seven year mark and share your disdain for doctors. That said, while I understand the temptation (believe me), I implore you not to give up on yourself.

You might really benefit from some face time with other TBI patients. Have you contacted your local chapter of the Brain Injury Association of America bianys.org ? Those people will understand and be able to help you. I know you feel alone- but you're not. Email them or pick up the phone and call. What have you got to lose? Hang in there.

Staten Island BIANYS Survivors Group
Meets: 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, 4pm-5:30pm
Contact: Jan Wollney
Phone: (718) 356-2851
jwollney@bianys.org
Meets at: Staten Island University Hospital, North
Address: 475 Seaview Ave Main Entry, 2nd Floor Cafeteria, Staten Island, New York 10301

I work PT however, my first thought is always to go to sleep. I take unisom, advil pm, tylenol pm and any other sleep aid I can get my hands on. I feel uncomfortable being awake during the day and feel more comfortable at night. Sorry to hear you're having so many problems; I wish I had more prescriptions but the strongest I have is klonipin. Not enough to make me a zombie. I too have lost many friends, my career, material things. Life sucks. However, never give up. I still have a little hope. A tiny bit but fight through it. Easy for me to say but never, never give up.

How are you doing these days Markneil1212? I hope you are doing well or at least better.

If you send a reply, I'll get back to you in a couple days. I've decided that I'm going innpatient and will be there for at least 72 hours. Life is just so overwhelming and stressful. It's really hard to cope with day to day life.

Hang in there for you. All the best
