I know that we have all talked about it in various threads but just so I can see it all in one place... What have you done to reduce your headaches? What has worked and what hasn't?
Just a quick list of what has not worked... - you can see my meds in my signature - I have now done a cranial nerve block - I have dealt with my neck and continue to do so, I know that I have degenerated c3-4 from previous accidents... new herniation is in c5-6-7 that are pressing on my spinal cord and causing spinal stinosis - I have done a headache infusion of a steroid, phenergren, and benedryl Looking for something that I can go to my neurologist with as an idea to make this better... a headache for 6 months straight is getting really old!!!

The Start: MVA, t-boned, on 1-12-14 (my sons 5th birthday) and did not think anything of it.. my back hurt on site but everything else seemed ok. Lost about 10-12 hours from about 3 hours after the accident to the next day...Experienced terrible brain fog for over a month, plus intense headaches, nausea, dizziness, cognitive difficulties, disorientation, no short term memory, depression and just an overall hangover feeling daily. Current Situation: I'm about 7 months in and my local neurologist has waived her white flag and therefore I am headed to Dallas to be seen (I have family there). The headaches are still daily. I have nausea, dizziness as well. Drugs I have been on- Vicodin (off), Naproxen (off), proanolol (off), topamax (off), cataflam (off), Midrin (off), Flexeril (off) and now Namenda XR (off), Nortrptylin (off), Verapamil (off) Therapy- Osteopath, Vestibular and balance therapy, fuzion/soft tissue massage, acupuncture Drs- ER (no help), GP, Chiropractor, Neurologist and Osteopath |

I would like to go back to work... can't really do that on opioids... but did it shut down the pain channels and therefore settle the headaches permanently?

I had a very small doses of opioids and they work. I just didn't think about the headaches as much. I no they are addictive but if you are careful with them they can help. I guess you might want to try the other suggestions first.
