Default Short Term Disability

Hello All,

My Short Term Disability is denied, they are looking for evidence other than doctor’s notes. I am quiet disappointed because of this “invisible” injury, They mentioned that my MRI and blood tests are normal. Any suggestion on how I can provide more evidence which can be considered?

(My issues are persistent headaches, dizziness after activity of 3o mins, fatigue, few memory issues. I am taking Propelnon for headache, Vestibular Therapy, Speech Therapy, just started NUCCA treatment)

Thanks in advance!

Your Vestibular Therapist and Speech Therapist should be able to provide documentation of your condition. Don't use any NUCCA reports. They will backfire.

The doctor needs to explain that a negative MRI and blood work does not mean you are not injured and disabled. They are just done to rule out other issues.

Have you tried to return to work ?

Have you kept a journal to document your head aches and attempts to resolve them with meds ?

What is Propelnon ?

Did you mean propranolol ? That is a BP med. What has your BP been ? That is a good indicator of injury.

Thanks for your reply Mark.

I have been working 4-5 hrs/day after a week of my injury. Things were not improving and headaches were getting worst so took completely off from work last month, will join back next week.

I havent kept a general as such but yes, taking propranolol for headache prevention which helps reducing headaches 3 times/week. Still very sensitive to multiple noices, light and multitasking which is needed at work.

Sensitivity to multiple voices, light and multitasking are all common PCS symptoms. I wear foam ear plugs when I am in an environment where there are multiple voices. Multitasking is stressful to even healthy brains. It will be important to find ways to break your multitasks into single tasks. Tinted lenses can help with the lights. Even a hat or visor will help.
