The Start: MVA, t-boned, on 1-12-14 (my sons 5th birthday) and did not think anything of it.. my back hurt on site but everything else seemed ok. Lost about 10-12 hours from about 3 hours after the accident to the next day...Experienced terrible brain fog for over a month, plus intense headaches, nausea, dizziness, cognitive difficulties, disorientation, no short term memory, depression and just an overall hangover feeling daily.

Current Situation: I'm about 7 months in and my local neurologist has waived her white flag and therefore I am headed to Dallas to be seen (I have family there). The headaches are still daily. I have nausea, dizziness as well.

Drugs I have been on- Vicodin (off), Naproxen (off), proanolol (off), topamax (off), cataflam (off), Midrin (off), Flexeril (off) and now Namenda XR (off), Nortrptylin (off), Verapamil (off)

Therapy- Osteopath, Vestibular and balance therapy, fuzion/soft tissue massage, acupuncture

Drs- ER (no help), GP, Chiropractor, Neurologist and Osteopath

I get room spins. It's pretty wild - but saves me money on amusement rides. Kidding aside, is stinks.

There can be many causes ( Meniere's syndrome, Cervical vertigo, BPPV, Perilymph fistula, etc...) of dizziness following an mtbi. Pinpointing the causes(s), can help address the problem. I find good neck posture and rest help reduce my incidences.

How do you experience the dizziness? Do you have vertigo? Is it accompanied by headache? Do you have a full feeling in your ears? Does it happen if you move your neck in certain ways? Is it prompted by loud noises or nose blowing? Could it be a side effect of your medications? etc...

I feel you there. It has improved greatly for me incept for in a few areas. Examples, turning my head to fast and when I do physical stuff. Or when im in loud or visual commotions (weddings busy stores) and driving. the driving is still sketchy at best so i. Limit it

Something to research today Hockey...

The room spins... I had vertigo right after... went away for 2 months.. and then that stupid yoga class brought it all back...

I have had a headache everyday since January 12th... so yes...

No full feeling in my ears... not prompted by loud noises.

My neck moving does make it worse, however it does happen when I just move my eyes...

I have dizziness as well (with occasional vertigo). It's at its worst when I take my evening walks.
Also get it from working on computer and driving.

I've been doing some visual/vestibular therapy (cervico ocular vestibular proprioceptive exercises) with my PT doc for about a month now, but haven't seen any substantial progress so far.

Went snowmobiling once (didn't hit my head) and concussion symptoms returned and got even worse than before.
June 2013 - accidentally bumped my head against a deck railing, and had a month-long setback.
November 2013 - drove to work after a big snowstorm and the roads were very rough, ended up having another setback.
2014 - Having setbacks after coughing/sneezing too much, or someone slapping me on the back, or any other significant jarring.
Feb 2014 - Started seeing Atlas Orthogonal chiro - most helpful doc so far.
June 2014 - Two months of physical/visual therapy - no noticeable improvement.
September 2014 - Diagnosed with Perilymph Fistula in right ear.
November 2014 - Fistula surgery (switched to left ear before the surgery after additional testing).
January 2016 - Quit work to "work" on figuring out PCS, so far it seems that eyes/vision issues are the most contributing factor, especially computer work.

Current symptoms are: inconsistent sleep patterns, headaches, vertigo/dizziness, anxiety/panic attacks, mental fog/problems with concentration, problems with computer screens.

I've been doing the vestibular exercises for months with little difference. Certain things set the dizzies off, but turning my head back and forth is the worst. I'm still not allowed to drive because of it.

I probably should not be able to drive... I was in vestibular therapy for a month.. 3 days a week.. did nothing... looking down makes me dizzy too... so speedometer to the road is a bad idea..

I don't know why I still go, I've had PT for over 3 months and it doesn't seem to do anything any more. I take meclizine for the dizziness but no I've started adderall for concentration and I'm solid dizzy for 8 hours. My doctor said my body will get use to it, but it's just laid me out mire. I'm going to have to start driving when my daughter starts school bc they don't bus kindergarteners home even if they're all day.

My dizziness seems to happen mostly when walking or standing and I look quickly up/down/side. Sometimes for no reason at all I will be walking through the house and I notice I am moving to the left with every step. I don't get dizzy driving but I am careful not to move my neck quickly. I use my mirrors a lot! I still limit my driving distance though. I am not on specific meds for dizziness, however, it could be some of my meds too. Computer usage, intense concentration and loud/busy places make me dizzy (my musician's earplugs come in handy for this). Squatting down ends up with me falling over 90% of the time. I can relate but cannot pinpoint the cause. I am just at 1 year post-concussion.
