Lets concentrate on ourselves and helping each other. These guys may learn the hard way the price they will have to pay Certain trials and treatments look promising for the future but i wouldn't take hundreds of hits to the head banking on it. |

90% of all knees are the same.. function the same and can be repaired the same... not one brain is like the next... I would much rather replace a knee than deal with this! My recovery for each of my new shoulders was better than this!

The Start: MVA, t-boned, on 1-12-14 (my sons 5th birthday) and did not think anything of it.. my back hurt on site but everything else seemed ok. Lost about 10-12 hours from about 3 hours after the accident to the next day...Experienced terrible brain fog for over a month, plus intense headaches, nausea, dizziness, cognitive difficulties, disorientation, no short term memory, depression and just an overall hangover feeling daily. Current Situation: I'm about 7 months in and my local neurologist has waived her white flag and therefore I am headed to Dallas to be seen (I have family there). The headaches are still daily. I have nausea, dizziness as well. Drugs I have been on- Vicodin (off), Naproxen (off), proanolol (off), topamax (off), cataflam (off), Midrin (off), Flexeril (off) and now Namenda XR (off), Nortrptylin (off), Verapamil (off) Therapy- Osteopath, Vestibular and balance therapy, fuzion/soft tissue massage, acupuncture Drs- ER (no help), GP, Chiropractor, Neurologist and Osteopath |

I played football from 2nd grade to 7th grade and this makes me mad too however I think it's because I have a concussion and know what it feels like, If I started playing again I would never aim for the head because I would never want to be the cause of a concussion....

I don't think there is ANY way to make football OR boxing safe enough to avoid future problems.
I boxed and every head punch hurt, with head gear and big gloves. Stop the fight after too much of a beating? I've seen guys get killed for nine rounds and win with a one punch knockout. They deserve that opportunity until they can't punch back. Football? They are taking steps to avoid the IMMEDIATE bad-press injuries. But long term? These are guys who weigh from 180 to 370 pounds. They are freakishly strong and they hit each other as hard as they can for business. The skull doesn't get stronger with weight lifting. |
