Default good news on the sleep front and thanks for the push

Since I saw the new neuro last month and am taking the amben 12.5 and flexeril, I really haven't had the brutal insomnia I had for 7 years!! and the brutal headaches have diminished very much.

And thanks to certain people on this board for pushing me to go once again to a new doctor after I cancelled repeated appointments.

Dreams still vivid and wake up with anxiety attack and tremors but I know it will go away in five minutes and try not get frightened anymore. Wish I knew what caused the anxiety attack upon waking every morning. I know its a common symptom.

Spoke to doctor about serotonin syndrome with flexeril and Zoloft and she said one flexeril at bedtime is ok.

Trying to slowly wean off of Xanax under doctor's care since sleeping better and not sure if there is a point to taking Neurontin as the ambien/flexeril work much better.

Hi Mark,
great to hear you're sleeping better...it makes everything a little better.

on the anxiety/tremors, i had NONE of that until i started Lexapro 3 weeks ago. i'm also on a very low dose of amatryptaline and am starting to wean myself off of it.

i don't remember the tremors starting until maybe day 3--possibly in anticipation of another horrible headache that day 2 brought on. and pretty much every day since i've had them, except yesterday. they've gotten shorter and shorter but initially was pretty scary.

so it was either the addition of the SSRI to my life or my shrink TELLING me i have an anxiety problem, or the anticipation of side effects. but the fact that it comes on the second i'm conscious and without any preceding thoughts makes me think the symptom is driven by the drugs.

my shrink swears seratonin syndrome isn't a risk b/c the doses i'm on are so small, but i am a DELICATE flower when it comes to drugs--tiny doses affect me bigtime.

i don't have the answer but strong suspect mine are linked to the drugs. hoping as i adjust to lexapro (an alternative to xanax, helps w/ depression too, HAS improved my appetite and sleep, but not helped anxiety yet) and get off amatryptaline this will go away

good luck. glad to hear you're out there advocating for yourself and problem solving.

Those remaining are fatigue, brain freezes/overstimulation, headaches, sensitivity to light and sound. Insomnia is getting better but still an issue, and appetite is ba-ack! Depression and anxiety are largely under control thanks to Lexapro, exercise, and a very distant light at the end of the tunnel.

Drugs: Lexapro, occasional 2-5mgs ambien. Off amatryptaline. Taking about 453 supplements.

Just started vision therapy, waiting on some blue-tinted prism glasses.

one more piece of naval-gazing analysis...i DON"T get the shakes when i wake up at 12, 2, 4 and 6...just when i wake up around 7 or 8 for the last time...so it's certainly possible the shakes were mostly driven by my dread of the side effects of the lexapro. they were barely noticeable today.

my dread of the side effects of lexapro has been replaced by my dread of the withdrawl symptoms of amatriptaline which manifest as just being tense as heck all day long vs. a 2 minute shake....

there was a great quote from an old mexican movie, look up the translation if you can handle cuss words,*********************
