milestones, man! it was actually an in-person conversation in my dark living room. milestone #2 today, had lunch at a restaurant for the first time since my accident. it was on the porch, looking out at a park/water, noise behind me. but i did it, no earplugs, talked the whole time (w/ just one friend)
gonna order some of those earplugs b/c the biga** neon ones i wear around town are kinda embarassing. now i really should rest or i'll be in trouble good on y'all for pushing yourselves just a tad, then rest. Quote:

So happy you got out and about!! the walk on the pier sounds great.
Probably a smart move not to go to the philharmonic, might be just too much all at once and there's always another time. What movie are you going to see? I don't even know what's out. I'm ok, thanks, ankle still killing me but have it elevated! :grouphug: |
We went to look at a house and property today. We are undecided about it. Going to see another tomorrow.
Just looking at houses and properties is exhausting. Wondering if the whole plan of moving is crazy, but staying in our current situation is not helpful to my situation either. Just need to get to the other side somehow. That's what we are doing this long weekend. Enjoy your plans! Starr |
Happy you got out and you and Dawn enjoyed the day! I am sure she appreciated it!!!

Happy Labor Day Everyone!!
Want to hear my stretch of broken logic for the day? In the 1890's Labor Day began because railroad workers were working in very dangerous conditions and they felt they were under-appreciated and being treated poorly so they went on strike. They were striking for better working conditions among other things. President Cleveland squashed the strike and created Labor Day to celebrate the workers. Phineas Gage was one of the first recorded brain injury survivors and he was injured while working on building the railroad. His case is still studied in neurosciences to this day. Here's where the broken logic comes in: So Labor Day is really about celebrating brain injury survivors like us!! :D (At least until we get a real national holiday...) http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/0...n_5738262.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phineas_Gage |
