Default Pressure and heaviness in head/ ears

Im wondering if anyone experiences this symptom and has recommendations or helpful tips to help relieve pain and pressure. I dont have it all the time and when i do i wake up with it and it last for the whole days and sometimes for a few days.

I feel like i have a lot of pressure in my head and ears. And heaviness in my head. My head is also really cloudy and its hard for me to think clearly. My thought process is really slowed down during these days.

The pressure is similar to a tension headache but worse and i feel the need to clear my ears like when you get off an air plane.

Does anyone else experience this?

Im 11 months post accident. I was hit by a car while crossing the street. And I've has this pressure for as long as i can remember since the accident

Thanks!

Hi!

Have you had an MRI? what has it shown? any inter cranial hypertension?

The Start: MVA, t-boned, on 1-12-14 (my sons 5th birthday) and did not think anything of it.. my back hurt on site but everything else seemed ok. Lost about 10-12 hours from about 3 hours after the accident to the next day...Experienced terrible brain fog for over a month, plus intense headaches, nausea, dizziness, cognitive difficulties, disorientation, no short term memory, depression and just an overall hangover feeling daily.

Current Situation: I'm about 7 months in and my local neurologist has waived her white flag and therefore I am headed to Dallas to be seen (I have family there). The headaches are still daily. I have nausea, dizziness as well.

Drugs I have been on- Vicodin (off), Naproxen (off), proanolol (off), topamax (off), cataflam (off), Midrin (off), Flexeril (off) and now Namenda XR (off), Nortrptylin (off), Verapamil (off)

Therapy- Osteopath, Vestibular and balance therapy, fuzion/soft tissue massage, acupuncture

Drs- ER (no help), GP, Chiropractor, Neurologist and Osteopath

I know this might sound a really silly question, but you did mention ears.
Do you find it is better or worse or neither if you blow your nose?

I don't mean the part about not being able to think clearly, I mean the feeling of fullness in your ear.

I get the same thing in my right ear. Feels like a whooshing/click/full of fluis. Occasionally leaks. I had a clear mri, so dr doesnt seem to care when I tell him. It doesnt happen everyday, but when it does i know its going to be a bad day. Usually comes with much dizzyness when it happens.

Not a silly question at all, when i blow my nose or even plug my nose and blow to clear my ears (if that makes sense) its clears the pressure in my ears momentarily and maybe helps the pressure in my head a bit but not much. Eventually the pressure in my ears returns though

Same here when i have the pressure in my head days i know it'll be a bad day

Also, i find it incredibly hard to wear earplugs, especially when I'm having these days. It feels really painful, like a lot of pressure is built up

I also keep bringing it up to my doctor and while he's great with everything else he ignores this. It bugs me because when i fill out the SCAT CAN and other questionnaires about concussions there is never any mention about these symptoms

I had terrible pressure in my head for a long time and at 17 months out still get it.

The pressure was there even just sitting and when I walked it got worse, I'd actually walk along holding my head.

I might be wrong but I always thought the pressure was a common symptom of concussion.

The not thinking clearly is common too, I couldn't get words out properly, think properly, couldn't read for 5 months...it took time but did improve, not 100% by any means though on the thinking clearly and have to think hard sometimes for certain words.

as usual with mri's, they are notorious for NOT showing intracranial hypertension, which, between pulsatile tinnitus and worsening headaches, I think I have. Will see doc this week usually only shows in mri if it is affecting the eyes.

anyone getting checked for Intracranial hypertension. It happened to brain injured people and usually doesn't show up on MRI. Like I said in other post, between pain in head getting worse and pulsatile tinittus, im going to ask doctor this week.
