In addition to the standard vision test, you may also want to have him checked for convergence insufficiency, binocular vision problems, and accommodation problems. A normal eye exam does NOT check for these things. I had perfect 20/20 vision and still had convergence insufficiency that benefitted from vision therapy. To find a practitioner that will do this type of exam, you can look at http://www.braininjuries.org or http://www.nora.cc

Also, I think it would be worthwhile to talk to your doctor about headache preventive medications. A commonly used one for post-concussive headache is Elavil (amitriptyline), though some on the board have also used nortriptyline. Another possibility is Topamax.

These are medications that are taken daily (not just when a headache is coming on) and help prevent headaches from starting. They are sometimes paired with a painkiller for breakthrough pain.

Here is an article about posttraumatic headache (it is a PDF) that offers some other treatment suggestions: http://bianj.org/Websites/bianj/imag...icheadache.pdf

Good luck!

Gyrostim is only effective for a narrow set of symptoms, mainly vestibular issues. Not many gyrostim systems available.
