I had some blood work done which shows slightly elevated B-12 levels.
Been taking a 1000mcg/daily since late July. Apparently the normal range is 211-911 pg/dL. Mine was at 913. My question is, should I follow the advice of this random internist (a doctor I saw once, and probably won't see again) to cut my dose to 500mcg/day? She has zero expertise in head injury, my appt. with her was essentially just to order some lab work. Is the B-12 doing a lot of good, and I should stay the course with 1000mcg? Symptoms are better, teaching part time, but still have "jammed up" tension headache feeling the minute anything even mildly stressful occurs. Also afraid to go off MagMind-- a supplement that I swear has helped me times a million (since taking this 3 weeks, my sleep problems are gone, feel calmer, less headaches, more "myself"). |

Did you stop taking your B12 for any time prior to the test?
There's a B12 Sticky thread in the PN subforum. Vit B12 Thread where they're talking about going off it a week prior to test to get clearer result. |

913 picograms/deciliter is a good level. Keep it up.
What was your magnesium level ?

I would like to try this Mag Mind supplement. What were your main troubles with sleeping?

Shoot, I didn't have a magnesium count done.
Just blood counts, thyroid function, and test for iron stores (ferritin). I started taking both MagMind and "DHAxtra" (a Nordic Naturals brand fish oil with higher DHA) a few weeks ago. Not sure which is helping more, I think they are both good. Per the research I've done on MagMind, people commonly report having better sleep after taking it. I definitely found this to be true, almost from day one. I also feel calmer and more myself during the day. Could be a placebo effect, but I'll take it! |

I finally started the vitamin and supplement regimen after being so stubborn/lazy for so long. Let's see what happens in two months.
