It is a harrowing experience. Wake up during REM with tremors, burning pain etc.
When I wake up due to noise or something else, I am fine Is there a way to alleviate this? I've clonazepam is very effective. more concerned with its very strong link to dementia but guess there's nothing I can do about that at this point |

that is a catch 22... however.. the link between concussions and dementia is pretty strong as well... take the drug if it fixes the tremors...

The Start: MVA, t-boned, on 1-12-14 (my sons 5th birthday) and did not think anything of it.. my back hurt on site but everything else seemed ok. Lost about 10-12 hours from about 3 hours after the accident to the next day...Experienced terrible brain fog for over a month, plus intense headaches, nausea, dizziness, cognitive difficulties, disorientation, no short term memory, depression and just an overall hangover feeling daily. Current Situation: I'm about 7 months in and my local neurologist has waived her white flag and therefore I am headed to Dallas to be seen (I have family there). The headaches are still daily. I have nausea, dizziness as well. Drugs I have been on- Vicodin (off), Naproxen (off), proanolol (off), topamax (off), cataflam (off), Midrin (off), Flexeril (off) and now Namenda XR (off), Nortrptylin (off), Verapamil (off) Therapy- Osteopath, Vestibular and balance therapy, fuzion/soft tissue massage, acupuncture Drs- ER (no help), GP, Chiropractor, Neurologist and Osteopath |

The link between benzos and dementia is not completely valid. The study did not consider other factors that may influence dementia rates.
Same goes for the study linking concussions and dementia. There are many mitigating and contributing factors that need to be considered. There is likely a link but not likely as strong as first presented. The raw data says that 1 out of 932 people who took Gardasil in the clinical trials died. That sounds horrible.... until one looks at the death rate for those who took the control/placebo, it was slightly less but statistically the same.
