Default can I take dietary suppliments and omega 3 with lexapro ?

My doctor prescribed me lexapro 5 mg for about 3 months . is it safe to take high dose fish oil , curcumin pills and a b12 capsule(mecobalamin, alpha lipoic acid, folic acid) if I am on a SSRI? Should i be concerned about my interaction ?my doctor thinks its fine

I used http://www.webmd.com/interaction-checker/default.htm to check for possible interactions between my vitamins and minerals. www.webmd.com also seems to have a rather nice database with info on various supplements and drugs. Your combo seems clear. One thing you might want to be careful about is that all fish oil, curcumin, and your lexapro drug seem to have blood thinning effects (and therefore increase your risk of bleeding).

Guys I took a 5 mg pill of lexapro today and feel awful. Apparently it has made my brain numb and indifferent to things around me. I feel no emotions no love no anger just numb. My mom said she has felt a huge difference in my behaviour just after the first dose today and said I have become very quiet and look even more depressed. I feel a bit drowsy and sleepy. Can I stop it if I have just taken a single dose?

Vitamins with an SSRI is safe. Just avoid something like 5-HTP or St John's Wort. They interact with an SSRI. As Thorx says, do not overdo it with the fish oil.

SSRI's take weeks to see a real difference. The first week can be a struggle. Let your doctor know if your mind starts doing strange things.
