Really it depends on the Dr and what treatment you have already had. Im slightly over my 2 year mark and I am getting new MRI and CT scans. Blood work. And a Spinal Tap.

It depends what symptoms you are still experiencing. I doubt the neuro appointment will make any difference.

avcfalcon81, Getting a CT Scan without symptoms indicating such a need means a high dose of unnecessary radiation.

What symptoms are you still suffering from ?

Had CT and MRI previously and both clear.

Have Neuropathic pain, noise sensitivity (high pitch), a degree of light sensitivity and it has been suggested I have Trigeminal Neuralgia.

Also sleep pattern has changed as I wake at 6am daily now, and am more fatigued.

3 collapses last year - epilepsy has been suggested, but all tests clear. I am on anticonvulsants for Neuropathic pain.

Mood is worse and I am more irritable, but Cymbalta and Lyrica really help this.

Mark,

I have daily headaches. Every couple of weeks I have a headache that puts me down on the bed for a few hours where I can't really function. Trouble sleeping. I get irritated easily. I get dizzy everynow and then. Blurred vision. Tingly feeling in my right hand. Memory issues.

About 6 months ago I had a bad headache but it was different because the right side of my face went numb and so did my right hand.

The reason for the new scans is my dr wants to see if the white spots on my brain have gotten better or worse. He is testing me for MS

I also have light sensitivity and sensitivity to loud noises. Haven't had much help from Drs on those and its more been an issue of me trying to control the atmosphere around me. My sleeping issue is I have trouble falling and staying asleep. I've been on celexa and that helps me

Met the Neurologist this evening and he was very helpful, he looked at all my symptoms and said that although my MRI and CT are clear I have had a mild brain injury. Although he clarified that there was nothing mild about it!

He also said that I do not have epilepsy and can drive.

He said I will have to tolerate pain and symptoms for some time, but I will eventually fully recover in all likelihood but it could take years.

To me all of this makes sense, finally someone who knows what he is talking about!

Glad he told you it could take years. My doc always told me recovery is not measured in days or weeks but usually years
