For all of you interested in following brain research, here is a link to a new journal. Current Research: Concussion Journal: a new peer-review journal with a primary focus on evidence-based research pertaining to the prevention, diagnosis and management of mild traumatic brain injury.
Page 5, editor-in-chief comments are from my Neurosurgeon, Dr. Jha. Dr. Jha recommended a vitamin re-hab program for me. It is a medical journal, technical by default. Enjoy!

This publication is extremely difficult to download and read. It is formatted as a book with very small type. It appears to have a goal of generating subscriptions for the publisher.
I would be very interested in reading what it has to say but have not been able to get the pages into a readable form on a laptop screen. The zoom feature does not function in a workable way so the text is either too small or the enlarged text is cut off so one can not read the whole line. Plus, the flashplayer app crashed my browser 3 times. If anybody finds a link to this in a web page format, please post the link.

I had the same problem. Froze computer.
Here's the Table of contents page. Current Research - concussion journal Table of contents - shows separate sections in both Abstracts and PDF form but because it is in sections the PDFs are much smaller and caused no crashes for me readng them that way. |

Sorry about that. The document needs Adobe flash player. It is graphic intensive and does take awhile to load. When I get the 'player has stopped' message I let it continue. The player allows page by page navigation, like reading a book and it has a zoom feature. The layout is similar to a magazine.
I'll look for a single PDF version and post it if i find it. Jamie

I cannot see a single PDF version of the document, but by clicking Lara's link you can open a PDF for each section.

Lara's link works good. You can open the abstract for a short overview without conclusions or open the PDF. The book using flashplayer is impossible to read, even with the zoom feature. The book fits the 'just because you can doesn't mean you should' concept in online publishing. The web designer must have had a huge display screen.
I just read through the significant articles and do not find anything worthwhile. Maybe later editions will have more worthwhile articles. Otherwise, these articles are just reporting the status quo of concussion management or lack thereof. It appears to be very similar to the Zurich Conference on Concussion in Sports. It is more focused on 'return to play' than any serious efforts to care for and protect the long term health of victims of concussion.

Their business is the prevention and treatment of concussion in sports. It is the first issue and I suspect it will be a vehicle for publishing research material following peer review. They push baseline testing for amateur to professional teams as an important step in the management and treatment of concussion injury in sports.
Agreed on the format of the publication, it would nice they would provide options that are more friendly to your average computer user. I'll mention that to him on my next appointment.
