Default Massage made symptoms worse?

Hi folks,

I got a neck/upper back intensive massage two days ago. I woke up extremely sore, as expected; however, my headaches have been MUCH worse. They've gone from an occasional mild stinging along the scalp to a deep sharp pain in my temples.

He massaged my head, too, though nothing felt uncomfortable at the time. Do you think this will just go away in a few days?

One concussion in 2012 from rugby. Loss consciousness and took around 5 months to recover completely.

Hit my head hard on a shelf on 12/7/14. Recovered by the end of February.

A branch fell on my hardhat at work on 10/7. Not sure if completely concussed but have been feeling "out of it". Definitely injured my upper cervical region and upper back. Out of work for the time being.

Did they remind you to drink lots of fluids after?

If not try that , it could be lots of toxins got released and need to be flushed out..

They didn't, but I have been! Could be made worse by the amitriptyline I just started, though (isn't it a diuretic?)

My guess is the neck massage was too aggressive for your condition. Many massage therapists thing harder is better, especially when they feel any resistance. You are not the first person to complain of symptoms increasing after a massage. When my therapist worked on my neck, the forces were very gentle.
