Default My post concussive experiences.

I'm nearly twenty years old and I struggle with my emotions very hard time feeling happy about mostly thing that before my diagnosis I would be entertained in. I don't have the sound sensitivity problems I have played drums for a most of my life. I have constant viewing issues like the walls look as though they are waves as does the floor. Struggling with this disability is keeping me from working and because it's hard to stay in school with my anger being as hard as it is to control which means I don't have health insurgence anymore my diagnosis was in 2009 and I have been spiraling downward ever since.hopefully someone understands where I'm coming from. Feeling like everyone is against you even communicating with family is hard because my own mother suffers from PTSD so we have a very hard time with each other she has fast triggers to her anger as do I... It makes me sad too know I'm hurting my moms feelings but it's even sadder to not have control over yourself.

Aspen,

Welcome to NeuroTalk.

It would help if you told us a little more about yourself and your injuries. It sounds like you were injured before you were 15. Did you finish high school ?

St Louis has 2 medical schools. You may be able to get some help at one as an intern group project. Both you and your mother could benefit from some help. It is possible to learn skills for controlling anger, even when there are underlying issues. Your city or county mental health departments may be able to help you both.
