Default Tinnitus dissipating and more energy

This month my tinnitus has started dissipating, I also have a little more energy. I am ten months PCS. My vision still is foggy and I see lots of floaters, I get headaches when I am on screens for too long, reading is still an issue, I am over stimulated outside my house in a restaurant or noisy environments. I can run for 20 min with no severe symptoms, I also walk for 20 minutes everyday.

I have been doing a water arthritis course with old people at YMCA for some more exercise. I also started playing ping pong of hand eye coordination. I am thinking about going to a yoga retreat for 6 months after three more months of recovering. What do you all think? Also, should I completely stop using screens if I feel it directly affecting my head. Or should I use them everyday a little bit to get used to them again. Thanks in advance.

I suggest you stop doing things that cause symptoms, like loud environments and restaurants, until you are better.

The floaters will not change. They are just perceived. We all have them if we look for them. Your brain is just not ignoring them like it should.

You say you can run for 20 minutes without severe symptoms. You should not be running unless you can without causing "any" symptoms.

I doubt a yoga retreat will help. What will help is giving your brain a break from symptoms. You brain recovers when it is symptoms free. Any time you can avoid symptoms, you are giving your brain a chance to heal.

Limit screens to the amount of time that does not cause head aches, nothing more. The head aches are because your brain is working too hard.

It sounds like you think you can push yourself through to recovery. Stressing the brain will only slow your recovery. It is not like a strained muscle or broken bone. They can heal under stress. The brain does not.

Default Yoga retreat

Mark I love your advice but how will going to a yoga retreat not help. It's quiet, no electronics, it's in the jungle, I will do the practice that I want. Basically a healing environment as it is in nature and I will be forced to meditate and come to peace with my problems. They have their own farm, so I will eat fresh vegetables, I will eat fresh fish from the ocean. 6 months of this and you say it won't help, how come? By the way this is known as The Yoga Farm, it's in Costa Rica.

It sounds absolutely wonderful. It can only help. (apart from the eating of fish that is )

edited to add: I checked out their website. Looks as if it's a beautiful place.
[plus, my comment about the fish is just that I don't eat fish anymore. I did once.]

I assumed you were doing this as a fitness endeavor. My concern is that unless you slow down your activity level, you will continue to struggle. If you can do 6 months of Yoga without pushing your pulse and BP and without putting a strain on neck muscles, then it may help. At least try to not push if for the first few months. I read their web page. Looks like part of your stay will be during their off time/rainy season when there are no organized programs. Hopefully, if you take it slow, you can get back to a more active capability by the time you get back.

You will surely get a break from screen time.

I suggest you take a good supply of Omega 3 fish oil with good levels of DHA/EPA. Warm water fish does not have much Omega 3 when compared to cold water fish. Plus, the chef cooks vegetarian meals. It is difficult to get the essential fatty acids a healing brain needs from a vegetarian diet.

Default Advice.

I am doing a pretty substantial vitamin regimen. 6 to 8 pills of fish oil, with cur cumin, b12, b50, magnesium maleate, bacopa, gout kola herb, a multi, vitamin c, d3 , e and I am taking down a bunch of coconut oil. I plan on doing this for he next five years. I think it has to be maintained for this thing to have less long term effects. I am wondering if foggy vision could be related to a neck injury. I know my neck is injured. It's a hard thing to heal. Anyone have any ides? The hardest thing for me to do is limit screen time and I think getting away from technology would be a good way to heal.

So, what are you doing to help your neck heal and what things are you avoiding to help it heal ?

Thank you so much for this, Mark! I'm going to put it on a sticky note and on my cabinets where I see it every day.
