Arrow avoiding caffeine, artificial sweeteners, and other stuff?

Hey mark and all sorry for posting so many posts asking so many questions about different things,

But i have another question! You mentioned avoiding caffeine, artificial sweeteners, and other stuff like that. I totally agree with you on this and it does effect me when i consume stuff like that with my pcs. Therefore, this brings me to my question:

What happens if we do eat or drink some of these things? Besides me feeling worse when i eat or drink them, does it setback recovery? What exactly does it do besides making me feel worse? I'm nervous cause i have had some caffeine and high fructose corn syrup before with PCS.

(Im not going to eat or drink any of it because i hate the effects they have on me, just curious and nervous!)

Consuming caffeine, artificial sweeteners and such will not kill you or damage your brain. They are just not good for a recovering brain. A single serving of caffeine a day is considered OK. A single serving of alcohol is OK too. There is no reason to consume artificial sweeteners. There are alternatives to HFCS but moderate consumption of HFCS is not going to hurt you. Just don't overdo it. I drink sugar sweetened soda and juices in moderation.

There is no reason to feel "Woe is me. I consumed high fructose corn sweetener." It like getting a good night's sleep. You are better with it. If you don't get a good night's sleep. It does not kill you. You just don't perform as well.
