I did not say it will take two weeks to recover. I say I bet it may take up to two weeks to recover. I have experienced that two week recovery period from simple over-stimulation that is similar to the stress of a startle like you experienced. Add an anxious focus on "Oh no, I have re-injured myself" and that stress is magnified.

Rather than focusing on "When will this end?", I would simple expect a need to take it slow for a few days or more with an acceptance that mitigated any feeling or manifestations of anxiety.
