Default question about scans & work. comp.

Hi
I am getting worried that work. comp. will try to say that there is nothing wrong with me 1.5 years after my accident. I have had a CT, CTA and MRI. They all came up clear of course. My question is - is there a scan I could get that would "prove" that my brain is still injured and would show work. comp. that there is still something wrong with me?

I have heard of several scans other than the normal ones - MRA, DTI, fMRI, MRI with contrast, etc... But I am not clear on what they show or if they would be helpful in my case.

Also, is there a chance that these scans would come up clear even though I am still having symptoms?

Thank you.

The DTI MRI appears to be the best at showing the brain is still struggling. It does not specifically identify damage but rather shows the flow of fluid in the brain tissues. There are specific characteristics in this flow that can indicate a struggling brain.

But, I'm not sure WC will be concerned about abnormal DTI results. A NeuroPsych Assessment often does better at showing dysfunctions that can interfere with work functions.

Thanks Mark
I did have a neuropsych eval. in April. He could not pinpoint a specific area or areas I am having trouble with. He said I scored high-average to average on everything and said I am "very intelligent." He said I did score a bit low on visual memory, but nothing too significant. I thought this was going to hurt me, but in his report, he confirmed the diagnosis of PCS, confirmed that I still have struggles, blatantly stated that I am not malingering, and basically said that my fatigue, dizziness and other symptoms were affecting my abilities.

I do agree with all of this except that I still feel "slower" and a lot less "clear" than normal. Like things just aren't functioning right. And I tire very easily. I am 33 and feel like I have the physical and cognitive energy of a 70 or 80 year old.

So I guess I am just wondering where all this leaves me and what else might help my case?
