I have not typed any thing on here in a long time or been reading much for a long time but use to read here kind of a lot and put some things on here a long time ago. Well i had a head injury more than 5 years ago that i have been very bad from. And for some reason have been thinking some things taht i felt like i should put here. First is that evern if it is obviuos that the brain dose contorl every single thing about us. body and senses and thout and all of it. And no matter how much doctors try to say that they understand it all they do not. I am pretty sure that they tell us that it can cause head aches and dizzy and may be to much light and to much sound proplems but that those problems go away in a week or 2 but please think dose that sound silly to any one else. how can it not make sense that every thing the brain does can be damage just as easy as any other part and that depending on how bad it is it can be every problem and may be never heal specially because so many of these kind of problmes make it all worse so that it can not heal. please think about it. dose any one with any kind of head injury not feel kind or confused or crazy for at least some time well of course all people i think may be feel like that some time but when you brain is injured it seem to me that like it all most has to be impossible for a person to not feel like that and dependign on how bad it is dose any one else feel like that is a rock and a hard place that can be a very hard trap. it seem like the only thing that they have right is that it needs rest and healing before it can even start to get better but none of them even ever told me that in the beginning that and this is not new they have supose to been learning aobut this for ever like back to the first people that had reading and typing. But now i think that it really is not that they have been trying to do. i think they try to hide what head injury really are because they can not see it on there pictures and they can not let every one have a reason for a lot of things people that had there head injurd do. i know that they or some one dose say that most people in prison have some head injury and i believe that. well i feel like i am putting this here for all of the people like me that may be just have this happen to them just to let them know that it is up to all most only them to get better. but not to think that they are to differnt because most of the people on here only have may be a head ache or have to wera sun glasses or ear plugs and they are mosly ok. i think i just want them to know that there are i think may be probably many many that can not even handel to find this place and that there brains are insane. and i think them not having any one tell them this is a big reason why a lot of people with head injury kill them selve. the doctors or most stuff even on the computer dose not tell them this stuff. xept i have found some proof but it is like it is hidden in other places. like for instance if you look up head injury i am pretty sure all i have found says may be head ache or dizzy or small thing like those but if you look up cause for thing like psychotic or other crazy kind or insane things that a lot of them say that a thing that can cause a lot of that is head injruy. well halucinating and not understanding any thing is part of head injury so do not believe the doctors i think also because insurance company do not want to have every one know so that they can just say not a big deal and not have to pay. but for any new people like this the truth i think is that you have to be very carefull for your self. you may be crazy or totally messed up but do not feel like you have to only do what every one on here dose because it may not work for you and you may have to find a way to be totally away from all people and confusing things and try all the time just to help your brain heal. because if your brain is bad enuf a lot of the things these people and doctors say i think make it all worse and that i think makes worse pepole more crazy and to do bad things.

Word. Your post demonstrates exactly what it feels like to have post concussion syndrome. Doctors are really not helpful.

I understand your frustration. You make some good points. I quoted your post because my autocorrect function made some corrections so it was easier to read. Please do not be offended that I used my system to make these changes. I have to use it when I type or my posts would be very messed up. Doctors do not have time or take the time to study the latest about head injuries. Plus, they have usually learned a lot of bad information in their training. Then, there is the issue that they cannot do much to help us. Some doctors have a dismissive attitude of patients with hard to diagnose and hard to treat conditions. I think you under-estimate the struggles of many here on NT. The headaches, light and sound sensitivity and dizziness are just the obvious struggles. The foggy brain and depression/anxiety that come with PCS is quite the norm, even if it is unspoken. I get head aches regularly. I have very poor memory functions. I do not drive except in very limited situations. My writing is ten times better than my speaking because I can use autocorrect and edit my thoughts so others can understand. Word finding is a big struggle for me, especially when i am speaking. I need to rehearse what I want to say or it all comes out jumbled. I think many of us are struggling just as much as you are. We struggle to find a doctor who even acknowledges our symptoms. Most say it is just anxiety or depression. Little do they know. You are right about the fact that we need to be taking the primary role in our recovery. The doctors are not much help in most situations and can actually cause more struggles with their indifference and improper treatment. As you struggle through a day, please remember that we are here and we understand what you are going through. My best to you. |
