As I noted in my post titled "Made much worse by alcohol," my concussion got much much worse after drinking twice over a 4 month stretch, not resting, and now I have seen no improvement in 2 months. Starting yesterday I am beginning to feel a tingling sensation or sparks like feeling in my head.
Any idea what this might be? Is this something positive? It's the first sign of life around that clogged thinking that has been troubling me so much. Though it hasn't helped the actual thinking blockage whatsoever I'm hoping it means the brain may actually be working to fix this issue. What are these sparks and tingling sensations in my head? I don't know really. It's difficult to understand what this sensation could be.
You're not on any medication are you? The way you describe it sounds a little like "brain zaps" that people can experience coming off some medications. Paxil is notorious. |

Thanks Lara! I'm not on any medications, just taking quite a few supplements. The tingling or the zap is felt every time I try to access the thinking that I feel is blocked off. My only symptom is a complete lack of emotional awareness and detachment from emotional awareness. So, any time I am trying to speak to someone or look someone in the eye, these sparks are flying off in the head.

Anxiety can cause "brain zaps". Your last description would suggest that may be a possible cause, what do you think??
I have also read anecdotal reports of individuals who had certain vitamin deficiencies having brain zaps but I have no information about that to suggest reading I'm sorry. |

Thanks again Lara. I don't think I am feeling particularly anxious, or anxious at all really. I've been staying in and resting for almost two months now. The zaps are like a shooting tingling feeling that rise and subside as I'm sitting by myself trying to think about anything.
I read something about nerve endings being the source of this tingling. For now, just going to ignore this feeling while things hopefully clear up. Thanks for your response though, I appreciate it! Quote:
