Red face I am Starting CBD (Cannabidiol) / Doctor's Opinions on Setbacks from Bumps

Hey guys, I have suffered from PCS for 2 years and have had 9 concussions. I'm a 17 year old male. I have had PCS once already for 6 months and I fully recovered. This is my second bout. I just sent this to someone in a private message and my brain's pretty foggy so I thought I should copy it so save some brain energy but I thought this was important to get out to people:

"just to let you know, the doctor believes bumps to the head can be setbacks to recovery although not new concussive events altogether. He does think that anxiety can exacerbate or sometimes make you think you have a bump when you don't, but he believes that some bumps are real.

Another interesting thing is that since medical marijuana is legal in California at the state level, I am being started on CBD (cannabidiol) by my doctor. It is a non-psychoactive constituent of the marijuana plant, so it's not like THC so it doesn't get you high. It's a neuroprotective compound that he has given to some of his patients that helped alleviate cognitive dysfunction. I am very hopeful this new treatment will be of some merit. I will get back to you on that as well once I have had some time on it. Again, the human brain is amazing and I think we can get through this. I'll talk to you soon."

I am also attempting to start the Atkins diet again for brain energy as recommended by my doctor. Once I have experience with these things I'll report back to you guys. To emphasize once again CBD does not get you high. But anyways I'm very hopeful. Keep your heads up! They're finding new treatments every day.

I have researched and taken CBD for many sports injuries and joint/muscle pain and I think it is a GREAT natural anti-inflammatory. I usually take 10 to 20 mg.

It is made from legal hemp and can be ordered and shipped legally to all states as long as it is pure CBD with no THC.

I have not taken it for PCS and unsure if it would help with my massive headcahes. Didnt even think about it and now just started a powerful anti-inflam drug (indomethacin) and dont want to take 2 anti-inflams at the same time.

Keep us posted.

I had one psychiatrist recommend it for my headaches. However, my prescribing psychiatrist couldn't understand the "no THC" aspect and, therefore, wouldn't prescribe it. For once, I decided not to argue as I felt she would've only seen me as a "drug seeker".

CBD is still on my list of things to try... told my wife I'd grow it in the back yard. She told me I could find a new back yard to do it in...

Let me suggest you try it for headaches...worked ok for me...

Now I have my MM card and the CBD strain I get is incredible keeping my headaches to a minimal!

LOL..PS You do not need a prescription for pure CBD, only the blends that contain both CBD and THC. Pure CBD from legally imported industrial hemp can be ordered online.

CBD is illegal in many states regardless of its source. This has been a conflict for quite some time. Here is a link to a June 1, 2015 list of the states where it is now legal. http://www.celebstoner.com/news/mari...cbd-only-laws/

Here in Idaho, it is definitely illegal.

Industrial hemp based CBD usually comes from Asia and can have large amounts of herbicides in it.

Those online sources are willing to sell it to anyone but if you don't live in one of the 15 legal states don't get caught or even talk about it

MicroMan, I would change psychiatrists if possible. Not just to get a CBD prescription but to get a psychiatrist who is open to new understandings. If He is that closed minded, what other issues are holding you back ? CBD vs THC is quite a simple issue.
