Hey everyone, I got my last concussion May 2014. Symptoms that didn't seem to go away were brain fog, slightly dizzy while watching tv, a "tight" feeling when I moved my eyes...like they were pulling, mainly on my right side. My neck started kinking up on the right side a while after I noticed these symptoms, but I think they were mainly always neck related. I notice when my left side kinks up my left eye feels tight when moving my eyes, and vice versa. Also I had some sound sensitivity that seemed to get worse on the side my neck kinked up on. Anyways, I found a good massage therapist and after I have it done my symptoms are pretty much better. She really loosens everything up. Unfortunately I'm a pretty high stress person so it kinks up again within a week. So I have to keep going back. Just wanted to post this for any new comers that may not be aware the neck can be part of the issue, even if you can move it fine. You might just have a little pain. So it's worth getting things checked out.

Second to that. I go once a month. I've gotten good therapists at Massage Envy, or try Groupon. Like other professionals it's trail and error, just make sure they are state certified (all the ME therapists are).

What Happened: On November 29, 2010, I was walking across the street and was hit by a light rail commuter train. Result was a severe traumatic brain injury and multiple fractures (skull, pelvis, ribs). Total hospital stay was two months, one in ICU followed by an additional month in neuro-rehab. Upon hospital discharge, neurological testing revealed deficits in short term memory, executive functioning, and spatial recognition. Today: Neuropsychological examination five months post-accident indicated a return to normal cognitive functioning, and I returned to work approximately 6 months after the accident. I am grateful to be alive and am looking forward to enjoying the rest of my life. |

I found one through my boss. He's been going to her for a couple years. She's a little pricey, so I tried one from elements massage here in Scottsdale, Az. They didn't help out at all. Didn't use enough pressure. I went to a physical therapist one time and they helped out a lot, but they were pretty expensive. And my insurance didn't cover it. They did manual traction on my neck and then a traction table which really helped out.
