Happy New Year mTbi and pcs community.
I don't come here so often anymore, as I feel I live in recovery from PCS. I consider myself one of the "lucky" ones in that I more or less got back who I was and recovered a lot of energy. I still have ongoing tinnitus in my left ear and sometimes I think it's getting worse, but I don't know. I guess it's my scar. Anyhow, I just wanted to offer up some hope. I know there is a whole thread on the hope stories, but I just felt like posting here. The brain heals slowly and no two injuries are just alike either. Hang in there if you are new to all this and please don't get horrified by the sadness and the sad stories you may encounter. Neurotalk really helped me a lot and I am so grateful to this place. It was the first place I got any real answers that helped me then and still help me now. Here's wishing you all the best in the new year. I pray every day and believe me when I tell you this. I am praying for your recovery. Sincerely, Poetrymom

[SIZE="1"]What happened. I was in a car accident 2-23-2013, and got a mild concussion from it. I had some time off for brain rest, got somewhat better, but slipped into PCS in March 2013. Symptoms I had: dizziness, light and sound sensitivity, fatigue, tinitis, occasional headaches and migraines, Symptoms as of 5--2013: poor sleep, tinitis, some confusion /short term memory blanks, balance. The other symptoms are mostly gone, but flare up if I OVERdo something. Therapy I had: vestibular 3 months in: I could drive more and for longer distances. I felt like a younger, happier version of myself and I feel so blessed to have this feeling. 9 months in and I am working full time. I do get tired, and some sound and light sensitivity from time to time, but mostly I am over most of my symptoms. I pray every day and I m praying for your recovery. Over a year in: I can multi task (limited) and have humor in my life. But when I am tired, I am very tired. |

Glad to hear you are in recovery. It's definitely worth bearing in mind there is no time limit to recovery, you can make progress a year, two years or more after the event.
