My daughter was 15 when she had her first concussion and developed PCS. We took our daughter out of school at the neurologist recommendation. We did complete brain rest no tv, phone, reading, thinking nothing that stimulated the brain at all. No physical activity either. She made it up and was in high. You can get homebound instruction and 504 for accommodations, my daughter now has an IEP. The school is not fourth coming about this things at least in my experience. My daughter had a migraine 2 days short of 6 months plus a bunch of other things. My daughter is almost 17 months post concussion and still recovering. The biggest problem I ran into was that because they don't physically see anything wrong with your daughter like a cast they seem to blow it off what they should do. My daughter was told no busy work when she returned to school only test. She had memory problems and is allowed to use open book and open notes. Since your daughter is not in high school I would seriously consider homebound instruction or no school at all. I wish you and your daughter the best.
