Default Miserable.. Pcs or no?

I passed out while walking January 4th and woke up a few minutes later bleeding from the head. No other reason than being very sick. Went to er, no ct scan done, a lot of pain for 2-3 days but subsided.

February 8th I started feeling very dizzy which gets worse when I start walking. Mild headache and sometimes tight jaw feeling. The dizziness is 24 hours a day. It settles a little when I'm not moving but doesn't go away completely. I can drive but I probably shouldn't be. went to er again and they offered ct scan but warned about the radiation so I denied. I'm now reconsidering doing the ct scan. I am completely miserable. Any suggestions?

Any ideas of why you passed out and fell?
Was it an illness of some sort, intoxicated, tripped?
What part of your head hit and was bleeding?
If some sort of illness that could be part of the ongoing issues.

The CT scan warning is probably just something they are required to tell you.
No mention of MRI? Or even X rays?
But certainly the ER would have strongly suggested some imaging if they felt the injury required it.

So brings it back to any possible illness/condition,and/or some PCS symptoms.

Time and taking it a bit easy, limiting sensory overloads ( lights, sounds, visual) ,eating healthy, avoiding junk foods and caffeine, booze etc...is a good start.
check the sticky threads above on the main PCS page.

Taliesin,

Welcome to NeuroTalk.

You comment about less dizziness when you are not moving makes me wonder about a vestibular issue. A vestibular assessment would be worthwhile. The Epley Maneuver may be helpful.

With the symptoms you are manifesting, there does not sound like a need for a CT Scan. They are 200 time the radiation of a normal x-ray and rarely show anything unless there are more severe symptoms, extreme headache, slurring speech, motor control issues.

Your jaw issues suggests some whiplash injury possibility causing muscle spasms in your neck. A fall like yours could cause such an injury.

Is there a concussion clinic in your area ? They would be better than an ER for help with your struggles.

The sickness I had when I fell was norovirus for about a week. I tried the epley a few times, no luck. I went back to the er last night and asked for a ct and it came back normal. I guess that clears out brain bleed and tumor. I have an appointment with a tbi specialist in 2 weeks. Thanks for the replies, started reading other threads in the forum and it's helpful to see what other people are going through.
