I'm going to be trying this in a month. The optomologist I saw said most people see really good results.
i was wondering if anybody has had it or knows much about it. i read up a bit and it seems legit. |

I haven't heard of it, but you've piqued my interest. I'm going to look into getting this for myself.

I had it for about two weeks before as part of vision therapy before I moved from MN back to NY to resume school. The vision therapy office I see here doesn't do syntonics. I don't think I really noticed a whole lot, but I did it for such a short period of time, so who knows.

Initially just had headaches and didn't feel quite right, but a minor head bump 5 days later started a downward spiral of anxiety, depression, insomnia and fatigue. Had trouble concentrating on reading/looking at screens April 2014 - did exertion test, passed, started exercising and doing more, but didn't feel much better. May 2014 - Went on backpacking trip OK'd by doctor, trip itself went fine, but felt worse a few days after getting back, more difficulty concentrating, worse headaches. June 2014 - Bumped head on ceiling walking slowly down stairs, no immediate symptoms, but caused worsening headahces, more difficulty concentrating and looking at screens. Have not felt as good as I did before this since this bump. December 2014 - after feeling relatively better I went xc skiing and fell but didn't hit my head (something my psychologist who specializes in brain injuries told me he hoped would happen so I saw it was OK), felt worse Feb 2015 - back in grad school, light teaching load and some research, nowhere close to operating at my full capacity. Still have constant headaches, difficulty reading/looking at screens, mild anxiety and depression, and just not feeling like my normal sharp self. Trying, but struggling, to believe that I'll get back to my old self, or at least get close. |

3 treatments in and I'm able to tolerate much more activity. Much more. I hope it's the machine helping. I'll keep this thread updated.
http://www.international-light-assoc...S-Aug-2010.pdf Interesting what it says here about it helping with brain injury. ** Last edited by Chemar; 09-20-2015 at 06:38 AM. Reason: ** Quoted material has copyright |

This is also a bit overdue.
I have done about 30-40 treatments of this. My results have plateaued, and my ophthalmologist says I probably wouldn't get anymore results from it. I have found that this therapy has added about 1.5-2 hrs of activity (reading, conversations, screen time, guitar, etc.) that I can do a day. It has helped with light and sound sensitivity quite a bit and headaches are a bit better. I hope this therapy becomes more widely available. It is not expensive. |

I've actually started doing syntonics again under the direction of Larry Wallace, the co-author of that paper, who is only about a mile from my apartment. I'm curious about this machine that you used, as I'm currently just using blue-ish and green-ish colored glasses and looking into a halogen light bulb for 20 minutes a day. Not sure if it's had any effect yet, but it hasn't been that long.
What were your treatments like? How long did they last? What's the rationale behind this machine?

I stared into a light that had a filter (red) for ten minutes. Then with another colored filter (greenish yellow) for another ten.
I would expect that the machine I used has little to no different effects than what you have been doing. |

My Dr. originally said that I could wean off and be done with this therapy as I probably wouldn't see any more benefit, but she said it probably would not hurt to keep doing. I stopped for about 2 weeks and actually declined.
I had about three months where I made no progress where I was doing the therapy once or twice a week. Since doing it everyday for about the past two weeks, I've improved how much I function throughout the day (vs. rest time) by 5-10%. This is by far the best (and probably most inexpensive) therapy that I've done, though I know everyone responds to differently to therapies. If anyone out there has access to this therapy, I highly recommend it. I'm also rereading the papers, and copy and pasting the exciting information onto a separate document. Message me if you'd like it. Last edited by JBuckl; 03-29-2016 at 02:24 PM. |
