Default Am I pushing it too far?

Hello,
It's been 17 months since my last concussion, and although I still have PCS symptoms (light headache, constant ringing in the ears), I really want to try to start exercising again. Walking and even light jogging don't bother me much, but yesterday I went swimming, and I immediately felt dizzy/nauseous and had a strong headache afterwards, which have both lasted to today. Do you think these symptoms are just a result of anxiety, or is the repetitive head movement in swimming too taxing at this point in my recovery process? Does anyone have advice/experience on returning to exercise after PCS? Thank you!!

I know that the head rotation would cause me to have problems. You could try a centerline swim snorkel. They make it so you can swim with little head movement.

I have had tinnitus for decades. It often never goes away. I don't even consider it a PCS symptom any more.

I find headaches can also be tied to quality of sleep. Our concussed brains are far more sensitive to sleep even after the other symptoms have resolved.

Anxiety from one symptom can cause the other symptom.

It is often trial and error that answers these questions. No hard and fast answers.
