Default Memory Games and Activities

Just been reading this piece Improve Your Memory: Download These Brain-Training Apps

Has anyone found this type of thing useful, especially as in carry over to life experiences?

Cheers.

This article is an infomercial. Most of the links go to Sales presentations for a specific product.

The most these brain training systems can do is develop memory skills and disciplines. Many people have poor focus/concentration so they do not remember. Learning to focus and tune out distractions is important.

Learning to focus is important. Learning how much more effort we need to focus is also valuable.

Most of the fee based programs offer a limited free trial. I've done many of them. (Lumosity, Fit Brains, and AARP's) Most offer PC based training plus smart phone apps.

Eidetic is a worthwhile free app that teaches how to memorize things that need to be memorized. It will not improve memory for day to day things like, What did I eat for breakfast ? I learned this technique in high school and it served me well. It did not help me with process thinking.

Beware that some make it difficult to stop automatic payments if you choose to cancel your subscription.
