Default Please List Your First Symptoms For Newbies

Hello new friends.

When I first had this concussion, I did not even think to get it checked. It never dawned on me till much much later. It might help newbies who are wondering if they may have a concussion to list the first set of symptoms and if you passed out or not.

1. I obviously had head pain.

2. I did not pass out but I had altered consciousness. I could not tell if I was alive or dead though I was walking around. I kept thinking I WAS dead but just THOUGHT I was alive. This went away but every now and then for a few days, it hit.

3. Massive memory issues. First noticed I could not recognize faces of people I KNEW. People would come up to me and say hi and I had not idea who they were. This is still going on.

4. Getting lost no matter where I am going. Still going on.

5. I started to get hyper and I started to have major mood swings and yelling out at people. Of course, I was hurt in other areas so it was all stress all the time, but it was wild swings

6. Unable to do things I used to do. I was a big reader. That went down.

7. Personality changes. I started to listen to music I previously hated and began to dress differently. I lost my faith and then regained it and then lost it and then regained it and then lost it. As you can see extreme instability.

8. Crying in public all over the place. The barrier started to come down and it is still down. Someone said something out of place to me in public and I RIPPED HIM A NEW ONE, something I never would have done and I felt good about doing it. I was tired of having people think I am weird and he was on that track so I let him have it.

9. Lost a ton of weight. I always had trouble eating because of a childhood illness, but food was and still is a disgusting, grotesque experience. I hate food.

10. I just stopped talking for about 2 weeks and only write things down or used ASL (American Sign Language). I am not sure what that was about but it felt MUCH BETTER NOT TO TALK.

OK I hope that helps someone
