Default Anyone use nitrous after TBI for oral surgery

My son recently needed teeth extracted and I wanted to confirm with his Neuro surgeon that laughing gas was ok to use - he want too sure and advised against it. Does anyone have experience with or knowledge about using laughing gas after a TBI? TIA
