Default post-traumatic hypopituitarism (PTHP)

Hi, I'm new. Minor concussion 4 years ago (complicated by possible leptospirosis and protracted post ssri withdrawal). Crippling fatigue, depession, anhedonia, problems word finding, starting tasks or even wanting to start them!
Just wondered if anyone has, or, has even heard of post-traumatic hypopituitarism (PTHP)? Apparently it is probably very common after even minor head injuries, but at least here in the uk, the authorities are trying to pretend it does not exist! I seem to have most of the symptoms.

VITI,

Welcome to NeuroTalk.

Hypopituitarism has been mentioned but more often adrenal fatigue is the issue.

There are many clusters of symptoms from PCS than can fit the symptoms of a number of ailments. It is very difficult to self diagnose from online information. An assessment by an endocrinologist with the relevant blood work would usually be the way to diagnose hypopituitarism.

Many have found benefit from a thorough assessment by a neuro endocrinologist. That might be a challenge to get in the UK.

What struggles are you still having ?

Thanks for response Mark. The struggles I am still having are as listed above. I don't think they are getting any better. I am worse this year compared to last year when I thought I was improving.

Yes, the doctors in the UK are more concerned about saving the National Health Service money than saving their patients. Especially if you are a woman!

I was being diplomatic by not mentioning the NHS issue. But, finding a neuro-endocrinologist would still be worth any fight it takes.

I quit an SSRI and replaced it with 100 mgs of 5-HTP and 200 mgs of L-Theanine. They do a much better job without the side-effects.

You should check out the Vitamins sticky at the top. You are likely in need of B-12 and the rest. You might be shocked to see what B-12 does to help.
