Default PCS Update after almost 11 months

Here's a timeline of what happened:

Fell off my motorcycle on October 2016. Symptoms were:
- Chronic headache
- On and off Tinnitus
- Chronic Dizziness
- Sore neck
- Globus pharyngeus

I had all these issues especially the headaches for almost 10 months but now im almost symptom free.
However now im facing the following problem:

- Feeling of Instability on right leg when walking
I've seen an Orthopedic Surgeon and took MRIs and he suspect that there's a little tear to the ACL which causes this. No surgery is necessary but he didnt say how long this will last other than going for physio.

- Plantar Fascitis
Daily pain at the bottom of the feet which many be due to the instability affecting my gait.

- Weakness & stiffness in the hands especially after waking up in the morning.
I have not had any problems before but i am not sure whats causing this and this is currently my main worry. Weakness is on and off especially after waking up in the morning.
Anyone having the same issue?

Weakness and stiffness in the hands can be due to lower neck and upper T spine radiculopathy. Sleeping with poor posture between the shoulder blades can exacerbate this. Anything in the spine to shoulder to elbow to hands nerve routes can combine to cause problems in the hands.

If you can relieve it by rinsing and massaging your hands under warm water, it can also just be inflammation due to osteoarthritis or some other inflammation cause.

An unique issue to consider is how you work with your hands. Do you work with cement, concrete, mortars or grouts? Do you come in contact with aluminum compounds?

Do you use aluminum based antiperspirants ? Do you use aluminum based antacids ?

These aluminum compounds can cause nerve dysfunction and inflammation.

Have you been assessed by a Physiatrist (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) who can asses your gait ? A Physiatrist who works with neuro rehab would be worthwhile. Your leg issue could be neurological.

11 months is plenty of time for an ACL to heal if you are not stressing it.

A hero as usual. Thank you for replying.
I usually sleep on both of my sides at night and now im training myself to sleep straight. I have a mundane 9 to 5 job which only involves some typing on the computer.

I will try to find a Physiatrist once i have the funds because i have spend a fortune on doctors since my motorcycle accident till now.

Thanks again Mark.

Max,

Not sure if this has any validity to it or any pertinence to your situation but I'm going to toss
It out after talking about this very thing with my wife last night.

My body feels different I think, but quite functional since my accident.

I say "I think" because I wonder if it actaually is any different. I seem to be quite aware of every sensation and it makes me wonder if it is more my ability to filter the norm that is not up to par. I'm no expert but that is my sort of theory for me.

My hands were easily numbed if my elbows were wrong on a chair for a couple of years after my accident but that has departed now.

Glad you are on the mend.

Bud

Hi Bud,

Thanks for your input. I have certainly considered that the brain may work a little different and might be more sensitive to external stimuli thus getting heightened sensations of pain, etc. I will try to give it a few more months to see if it gets any better.

How are you btw?
