Default Car accident in 2015 (whiplash without head trauma)

I would like to share my experience with everyone on this board. I've read through a few topics and I fully relate to how everyone is feeling. You never really know how precious life is until you go through something life changing as having PCS. I'm glad to answer any questions and I hope someone finds this information useful. I wish everyone a speedy recovery and I send my prayers to all who are still suffering from this condition.

Car Accident:
I've always led a healthy lifestyle, I don't drink, smoke, I eat healthy and I used to exercise at least twice a week. On Feb 2015 I was in a T-Bone car accident in which a car hit me driver's side at around 50-60 mph. I did not hit my head but my neck whiplashed from left to right and possibly front to back. I did not suffer any pain or other symptoms until May of 2016. One day I believe during the first week of May I had a few drinks with a co-worker around 12 pm before heading home around 4:30 pm. When I arrived, I opened the door and I immediately experienced vertigo. My heart started racing and I felt like I was going to lose consciousness. I called 911 and paramedics came and drove me to the hospital. That was the first and last time I would feel the sensation of vertigo to this day. Ever since, I have a sensation of light headedness and minor headaches from time to time. I was also very sensitive to fluorescent lights during the first months but that is no longer an issue as of now. The cloudy/foggy brain is also mostly gone. My main symptoms are now light headedness and brain fatigue. It also doesn't help that I work on a computer as a programmer which is the reason I feel my brain fatigues quicker than when I watch a movie, read a book or go out jogging.

Medical History:
• No other conditions, surgeries or allergies prior to car accident

Current Symptoms:

• Light headedness when sitting down and working on the computer or standing up/moving around. Hard to keep eyes focused on computer screen. Brain fatigue when overexposed to computer screen.
• Light headedness when driving
• Scalp and forehead feel hotter when symptoms are worse
• Mild headache somedays (pressure in middle on forehead)*

Tests Performed:
• Audiogram - normal
• VNG - normal
• Vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMP) - normal
• MRI of neck (7/22/16) - normal
• Blood analysis - normal
• Neurologist - normal (BPPV negative, no signs of neural damage)
• EKG - normal 5/5/16
• CT/Cat Scan
○ Right after car accident 2/2/15 - normal
○ Requested a CT/Cat Scan w/contrast after neck adjustment by chiropractor (Dr. S Thomas) - 5/5/16 - normal
• Cardiologist - (ultrasound and stress test) - normal
• SPECT Scan - 8/24/16 (Results showed damage and low blood flow in certain areas of the brain)

Prescription Drugs Taken:
• Fluticasone propionate - (recommended by Primary physican - Dr. E Shwartz) Increased heart rate / felt like a heart attack / panic attack
• Meclizine (Had no effect on light headedness)
• Valium - Short term relief after taking 4 mg (Used 3-4 times - Effective against light headedness but terrible side-effects)
• Nimodipine (Recommended by Dr. P Wand - Neurologist) - Decreased light headedness slightly. Took for 3-4 months and stopped
• Lexapro (started Dec 19 2016) - Helped with anxiety. No effect on light headedness or brain fatigue

Physical Therapy:
Neck movements (left to right and up and down while focusing on a x mark on wall at eye level) recommended by Vestibular therapist - no effect

Natural Meds I'm Currenly Taking:
• B-12
• Fish oil
• Life Extension Neuro-mag Magnesium L-threonate Dietary Supplements
• Coenzyme (CoQ10)
• Alpha-Lipoic Acid
• B-Complex

I would also like to add that I went in for 3-4 Neurofeedback sessions which did nothing to improve my brain fatigue or light headedness.

Your accident was very similar to mine. Was Tboned passenger side first by car going 60mph+ and SUV went airborne and landed on its side. I was diagnosed with convergence insufficiency which blue tinted glasses and then prisms helped with. Now my convergence is in normal range but haven’t been able to figure out the headaches/brain fog/fatigue part. I’m 6 years out currently going to Mayo Clinic to get answers.
