cjaillet,
Welcome to NeuroTalk. I'm confused. You have had two doctors tell you it was not a concussion and that it is an anxiety reaction. "light sensitivity, panics, some brain fog" are all common symptoms of anxiety. We have lots of non-professionals who will agree with the doctors. Nobody here who knows anything is going to suggest you suffered a brain injury. What were your hospital stays for? What is 'the works' ?

Hello, My hospital stays were for mental health. I’ve had two. Also had bad reactions when trying anti depressants. The works meaning bed rest, out of work, unable to perform daily tasks. I guess I can assume that anxiety plays a large role, but my symptoms have gotten worse and I can usually pick out anxious symptoms from PCS symptoms. Right now it’s affecting me to the point that it’s wither another concussion or I irritated my post concussion syndrome. |

Almost every concussion symptom can be caused by anxiety. In fact, the researchers have documented that people who have anxiety issues will have more and longer lasting symptoms. They attribute this to anxiety, not physiological concussion symptoms. They can use anxiety profiles to predict outcomes.
There is a syndrome where the mind has memorized actual physiological symptoms and anxiety can trigger these memorized symptoms to manifest without any physical trigger. It is basically a PTSD flashback response. There have been many here on NeuroTalk who think they can identify PCS vs anxiety but when they finally get proper anxiety therapy, the 'PCS' symptoms resolve. Have any of your doctors suggested adding nutritional therapy to try to help your brain work better? The Vitamins sticky at the top has some good information in the first post and a link to a later updated post. A month or two of a good brain health vitamin regimen can do wonders.
