Sounds like a bit of a whiplash effect, I'd try some self treatment for that and see how it goes for a few days..
I don't think a dr would do much maybe Rx a pain med or muscle relaxer.. Unless they Rx some PT for your neck.. that might be a good thing.. whiplash home care - Google Search
