I’ve been feeling pretty well the last couple days and trying to get outside and back into my daily life. Only minor dizziness and light headaches the last couple days and I’m about 17 days post concussion.
Anyways I made a stupid decision earlier today and decided to go out in the trails with a friends truck I was in the passenger seat. We did not go far at all maybe a 2 mile loop if that, and I did not hit my head at all. The most that happened was I jolted my neck a little once. My head was rocking around a little but not a lot we were going very slow less than 5 mph at times. I’m just curious if this is going to slow my recovery down, or make me have more symptoms and/or bring some of the previous ones back. And it can’t give me another concussion without hitting your head correct? I believe i read it can’t on here. I do have a very mild headache right now as I type this with the side of my head slightly hurting. I could have this from work though since I was back working on the trucks in the garage today took it nice and slow though. I would just like some reassurance, I’m sure I’ll found out in the morning. My neck is probably going to be a little sore still, so I’m going to be icing. What a mistake, I guess you live and learn... |

I can assure you that you did no harm and i am confident that if you do not look for symptoms then you will not find any.

Danny,
I’m around a lot of bumpy agricultural dirt and paved roads for my work. I did have problems from them for a couple of years but not so much now. I did not limit myself to 5 mph. I would have my daughter drive me around after lunch and that always settled things down. I was never not ready to go when the next day rolled around. I think as Ben says you are fine, just pay attention without worry...a learned skill for some of us. Best to you, Bud |
