My Mood: Almost 6 months after concussion - sudden insomnia came back

I don't know. You need to experiment and see if you can find something that works. I gave you ideas that work for me.

Did something happen in your life recently? An emotional issue, stress,

btw, I watch movies and such on my laptop in a recliner. I do not watch media in bed. When I feel sleepy, I go to bed.

Lack of sun ???

I think the stress comes from lack of sleep: the stress of not sleeping. I used to pull all-nighters when I was at uni to finish projects and loving those nights since they give you a strange euphoric yet horrible sensation the following days.

Re: lack of sun ??? Yeah. Sounds silly. I might stop looking for random reasons to explain my insomnia.

@firstconcussion I think your idea of the brain trying to compensate could be right. I've been through similar cycles, and it's annoying when insomnia appears for no apparent reason, but I think it's the brain trying to rebalance itself. With me I used to feel totally fatigued but not sleepy, it was like I had no melatonin, I couldn't even yawn properly. Even now, 4 years later, if I do too much it fizzes my brain up and I get broken sleep for a day or two.
