Default Games or ways to improve math after concussion

A member on this form has recently notified me that I am worried about my concussion and the anxiety will get to me.

However, I am just trying to lay the groundwork to improve in much as math as possible over the summertime so that I can hopefully ace my math classes next year with no trouble.

What games or methods would you use to improve math after a concussion.

Sorry if I seem overly worried about my concussion, I know it is not as serious as what some people have experienced here, but it is disheartening for me to get B's in my math class when I normally A's to A+

What would you recommend I do over the summer to improve in math the most? I have read some about neuroplasticity would that help?

Simply do mental calculating. Sudoku, other math challenges. I had a workbook on construction math that had a wide variety of challenging problems.

As stated in my old post, I played Free Cell and Minesweeper. Free Cell requires multiple step processing. Minesweeper requires recognizing and memorizing patterns.

Go grocery shopping and add up the items as you take them from the shelf. Practice calculating unit cost. $1.20 for 18 oz. How much per oz?

Practice. Neuroplasticity is just the ability of the brain to change. It is not locked into any injury form. With effort, it can be re-energized to do many things. It requires practice, practice and more practice.

You could do some free exercises at Brain Exercises, Brain Training, Brain Health – BrainHQ from Posit Science or Lumosity or other Brain training games.

If you struggled for A's this past year, get the text book and do all the work again over the summer.

Do Khan Academy. https://www.khanacademy.org/math

Challenge your brain to succeed rather than look for confirmation that you will fail.

Put you smart phone away unless if can be used to challenge you will math. Otherwise, smart phones tend to enable simplistic thinking.

Here is a great Ted Talk for you to watch. The presenter studies stroke recovery. After watching this, your brain will not be the same | Lara Boyd | TEDxVancouver - YouTube

The 9 to 11 minute point is important to recovery issues.

As she says, Put repetitive effort into your recovery.

I appreciate the effort you put into all your posts and all the work you do for this forum.

You deserve a medal or at least some cash because you put in enough hours for a part-time job.

Previously I was struggling with depression and anxiety about the "bleak" future in my career, but you really advocated for me and made me realize that struggles that other people on this forum go through.

Thanks for everything.
