I don't see why you need to make a decision on the semester as of right now, though? Can't you drop out at any time? You obviously don't want to push yourself too hard and cause more of a setback. But just take things easy at the beginning, and then drop out later on if you find you can't keep up. (unless there's a reason you can't take that approach?)
