Default Gehirnerschütterung My Story

Hello guys, I'm new to this forum and hope to get in touch with some people who understand me.

Background:

I'm a 28year old police officer from Germany. As english is not my native language, i want to apologize myself if my text is hard to read or i made some misstakes writing correctly.

I have a long history of health anxiety's over my whole life. Goes from Cancers over Als to Ms to infectious Diseases but gladly i was never. Really serious ill

I think i suffered from a lot of concussions up to now since i'm a big guy i often hit my head. An did a lot of Martial arts. I was at least never ko but seeing stars from time to time.

On Dec 10th 2018 i was doing box sparring against someone who is far above my skills gave me some 3 to 5 hard shots to my head (wearing headgear and gloves of course).
I think i remember the whole fight but can't count the hits due to adrenalin... Really dunno if this is true.
I was not ko and nothing. Changed partners afterwards the next opponent didn't get's me.
I was sitting down and when i stand up i saw some stars for a few second thought i am exhausted didnt think about it. was Feeling quite good

Next days i was getting some minor headaches where i was hit like stitches.

3 days post i went to the gym and this is where i get some vertigo but i pushed through.

I'm wondering does dizzi and vertigo means the same?

The vertigo was only this one day and went away next morning. But as i constantly had this minor headaches and i'm hypochondriac i was scared of a bleeding. So i went to make an mri of my head to rule this out. Mri was all clear and healthy.

Over new years i was making 6 12hours nightshifts in a row but felt pretty good only minor headaches and anxoous thougts about that I could be not the same anymore.

But since the last shift **** git really worse. I was trying to sleep and everything was moving i felt like i was drunk and saw stars even when my eyes was closed slept for 13 hours right away.

Next day i was at an ent told about the vertigo and they
Examined my inner hear with some kind of glasses i don't know how this works but i had to shake my head really hard to the left an right, up and down and then they checked my eyes.

Is it possible this gave me anither concussion?

Since then i suffer from vertigo and feel nauseous and i can't sleep properly. I wake up after 2-4 hrs of sleep with a high heart rate unnable to fall back to sleep this **** is really scary and after only one week i feel so damn exhausted from the lack of deep sleep.

Another thing which is worrying for me is that i wanted to go to college this summer. I applied myself a year before the incident and has to make a lot of test which i passed with very high points so that i was able to get a scholarship. This was really one of my main life goals and now i see my dreams breaking and this led me to be very angry about myself like why do i had to do this i knew i will need my brain etc.

I want to make this so much but now im really afraid i could fail due to tbi and could dissapoint the high expectations.

What are your thougts on this is it worth to give it a try? It will beginn in july so i would have some time to recover..

Also pcs is well unknown in germany the doctors I've told my story doubt i had at least one concussion because a gcs of 15 and as i have history of anxietys who turned out they were exactly from anxiety no one takes me serious. But even if they would as far as i know they will not do anything if mri is ok and the patient is completely clear maybe i will get some pt for the vertigo that's it.

If you read the whole text - thank you so much!
I just wanted to write things down to feel better and talk to someone who understands.
Any thoughts are highly appreciated.

Sending much love and good thougts from germany

If I understand you correctly the symptoms you experience now are:

nausea
not sleeping well
high heart rate
tiredness

and, most importantly, excessive worry that was already there (worrying about being ill but never really got ill) before getting concussions.

my guess - not pcs but anxiety, worrying. I think you will get good result by going to your medical practitioner and tell him about your worrying about many different things. Possibly he will refer you to a psychologist which could help a great deal.

Good luck!

PS: vertigo is a form of dizziness and is also a symptom of anxiety.

In the hands of an experienced clinical psychologist Cognitive Behavioural Therapy can be an effective way of learning to deal with mood disorders like anxiety.
