Was walking my dog (or rather, he was walking me) and slipped hard on my back on ice. Did not hit my head (so lucky) - landed only on back. Worried that maybe I suffered whiplash (as my neck really hurts). So paranoid that I've suffered another concussion. Was doing so well (vitamins, exercise has helped) lately, too.
Is it possible I could have suffered a concussion? My last major one took like 10 days to truly manifest (and was the worst experience of my life - I went into some sort of psychosis). Thank you. |

Glad you didn't hit your head!
My guess is the headache occurred from stiffening up prior to the impact with the ground, a subconcious effort to protect your head. If you had whiplashed most likely your head would have moved enough to contact the ground. Bud |

Thanks for responding. So glad I didn't hit my head. My friend described my fall as "impressive" as yes, I instinctively held my head up. I had had about 5 beer before this, so even doubly impressive. I am just so scared of another one. I've had so many and I know how much easier it is each successive time to get one. I am at the point where I feel like this would be enough. But you're right, it's probably not whiplash. |

Better remember your head the next time you have 5 beers with icy streets.
Sometimes good health requires modified behavior. Glad all ended impressive as your as your buddy said, sometimes those simple things can have interesting results. Bud |
