The worst one happened while looking down on phone in middle of the night, while this eyelash bug ran out so I really felt my shoulders n neck flinch and shake. It felt worse than normal flinching it was like everything was tensed up so it felt like this big jostle ThT traveled up my head. I was having symptoms when trying to sleep of waves and motion and humming sounds and some visual disturbances n body jolts . Doctor on call does not suspect injury but I've been feeling scared today because it was very upsetting
Earlier tht night I had another one turning neck to left but suddenly stopping after hearing something in the street that startled me n I had some visual disturbances shortl after I've been feeling emotionally drained and like crying today just weirdly depressed My head is feeling more pressure n nauseas Anyone have advice or similar experiences or opinions I might go to the doctor tomorrow if still feeling unsure or unsettled Last edited by AlmondJoy87; 07-24-2019 at 12:22 AM. Reason: Mood symptoms; more symptoms pressure |

I will address this one last time. Those who refuse to accept the physics can find another way to resolve their OCD.
Body flinches, jerks, and other movements DO NOT CAUSE BRAIN INJURY. For your body to use muscles to cause a level of force than could cause an injury, you would be tearing your muscles and joints or you would need to be making extreme movements like head banging where you throw your head back and forth for ongoing periods causing disorientation and dizziness. A hard brake action in the car can only generate 1.7 Gs. That is much more that a body jerk can generate. If body jerks bother you as you go to sleep or during sleep, maybe your doctor can try gabapentin. I use it (200 mgs before bed) to help my body not jerk or tremor during sleep. The jerking disrupts my sleep. I am not worried about it causing damage. If you have a vestibular disorder, these movements can cause your inner ear to sense the movement. That is not a symptom of injury.

I have to be careful with movements. If I get up from a chair, I have to do it in 2 movements. Move my body forward, stop briefly, then stand up. If I do both motions together, I get wonky.
I do it as a horizontal movement, stop, then a vertical movement. If I combine the 2, I get a rotational movement and the world spins. I've lived with this for 30 years, since anesthesia for ankle surgery. The vestibular therapist wants me to challenge my system with these wild movements. They just exhaust my brain with vestibular over-stimulation. If I spend too much time turning my head side to side, I get a similar bad sensation. So, I try to avoid such movements. If I do get wonky, I know why and let it go. No injury. Just a vestibular challenge.

I can relate with the getting up motions being slowed down
I wish you the best on your goals from physical therapy Have you ever experienced ThT humming in your ears when you lay down ThTs like pulsing? Or the motion sensation of waves that I described? ThTs one symptom that seems to be lingering since my flare up Doctor today from sports medicine said no injury just like you did last night Neurologist agreed but didn't have much further insight But I really wonder why the motion sensations in bed n humming appeared I'm no doctor but I wonder if something happened with veins or blood flow or pressure in the head That might be my anxiety talking |
