Default Nutmeg poisoning

Be very careful with nutmeg. I learned the hard way that it contains a psychoactive component and that the toxic dose is very small, quite comparable to the quantities we use when we cook. Some people even use it as a recreative drug. You can find more information online.

I had no idea about it and added ~ 1 teaspoon in a meal following a receipe in a cooking book. A few hours later I was feeling high as if I had smoken marijuana. It is only later that I realized the connection. This was one week ago and I am still feeling out and tired all the time.

Oh my gosh I hope you feel better! No idea that was a thing. I enjoy baking and autumn spices and I appreciate the info.

More on this topic-
Nutmeg poisoning - Google Search

[Individuals should refrain from ingesting more than a typical amount of nutmeg, not exceeding a teaspoon per person. Most recipes call for 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg or less and feed multiple people, making these dishes perfectly safe without risk of side effects.]
