Default Backfisted in the face

Kind of an odd accident.

Our cat has gotten matted hair in a few spots and we bought pet clippers (shaver) - but the cat wasn't liking it. So I ended up holding the cat as my partner/girlfriend trimmed our cat's fur.

At one point the cat tried to scratch her, and so she reflexively jerked back really fast and I got backfisted squarely around the upper-nose and forehead area. This happened as my partner was about arm's reach in front of me and very quickly jerked back in anticipation of the sudden scratch. It knocked me back several feet; my gf is admittingly stronger than me and lifts weights/does crossfit whereas I'm skinny and lack muscle.

Still hurts a bit after 30 mins. About a 6-7 out of 10 level headache. We're both around 150 lbs.

Not sure if the contact was her back palm, knuckle or the side bone in the hand as it happened so quickly and I didn't see it coming.

Would this be on about the same level as a hard soccer header or worse?

Don't try to analyze head bumps. There is no valid purpose. It happened. It is history. Move on with life. A backhand does not have much mass....That is all I will say.

Bone and skin bruises can be painful. That pain has no bearing on the brain.

You listing of all the details, weight, her weight lifting, etc. is anxiety trying to justify a reason to be upset.

Move on. Ice your face to help with bone or skin bruises if needed. Aspirin, Tylenol, or Ibuprofen for head ache.
