Default Freaking out right now and really upset at myself

I know I said I wouldn't post again until I was better but I just had the worst experience and then read that Mark gave himself a concussion doing something similar.

I'm currently 4 weeks on from that latest knock that screwed me up.

I've been doing really well lately as the first week was really tough but just now, I went to hop in my spa and I kinda slipped and my foot landed awkward.

Basically, in my spa, there is this area in the middle that is slightly deeper and so there is an edge around it.

When I slipped, my lead foot (foot entering first) landed half on the edge (my heel) and my toes in the deep part.

Because of that, I was expecting to land in the deep part and braced for it but my heel contacted the edge and I wasn't prepared and didn't really bend my knees and all the shock went into my head.

I've now got an extremely tight neck, dizziness, nausea and am extremely stressed and anxious that I have given myself another concussion.

I've read that stepping down hard without bending knees can send all the shock to your head so now I'm scared.

I was reading this (Stepped off a curb)

And Mark said he gave himself one doing something similar.

I've had flair ups before that I know are anxiety and am getting better at managing it and not letting it get to me which is why I havnt posted in last month been working really hard on my anxiety and stress.

But this one literally set me off so bad. Instant headache, massive tightness all through neck and dizziness

What kind of foods do you eat?

A lot of the foods we eat cause inflammation which will exacerbate your anxiety and sensitivities.

Stop eating inflammatory foods -
  • soda
  • sugar
  • fructose
  • wheat
  • refined carbohydrates
  • foods with added sugar
  • processed food
  • fried food
  • processed vegetable and seed oils (polyunsaturated fats) (safflower oil, canola oil, sunflower oil, corn oil, shortening, hydrogenated vegetable oils)
Replace wheat with whole grains. Eat a moderate amount of protein, lots of vegetables, some fruit, and cook with lots of healthy saturated fats (animal fats, coconut oil, butter, olive oil).

Dean, When I made a bad step that injured me, I was carrying a load with both arms. My back was arched back to be near perfectly straight. I wrecked my pelvis, back, shoulder, and neck plus I got a head dinger. My back and pelvis needed physical therapy for 2 months.

You could not move though the water at the acceleration that I did.

You obviously did not read the entire post from 5 years ago.

I did the same thing without my back arched straight and suffered no trauma.

Stop reading old posts lokking for reasons to be anxious.

If you were in therapy for your anxiety, the first thing the therapist would tell you is: GET OFFLINE. Stop looking for reasons to be anxious. You are only making everything worse.

Hi! I've recently started a diet and feeling much better it is definintely helping.
Have cut MOST sugar, refined foods etc.

80% whole foods like chicken, beef, lamb, nuts, salads, vegetables, yoghurt etc

Ahh yup that makes sense! I've definintely been better.

I had some needling done on neck and deep tissue anti inflam massage and that made me feel 100x better. It was insane how good I felt.

I've also got an appointment with a neuropsych in 3 weeks to help deal with the anxiety. I'm getting better but will be good to have some tools
